Flydubai announced the launch of a daily flight to Baairau Airport, also known as Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, starting December 10, 2024. Flights will operate daily from Baairau Airport Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport, providing passengers with convenient travel options to a new destination in Nepal.
These new flights will be part of a codeshare agreement with Emirates, offering passengers more options for connecting flights through International Aviation Hub in Dubai. The cost of tickets in business class from Dubai International Airport to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu starts at 3,600 dirhams, while in economy class it starts at 1,800 dirhams.
The cost of tickets in business class from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu to Dubai International Airport starts from 145,000 Nepalese rupees, and in economy class - from 70,000 Nepalese rupees. The new route represents a response to increased demand for travel between Dubai and Nepal.
"We are pleased to continue offering our services in Nepal with the addition of a new daily flight, reaffirming our commitment to providing reliable and convenient travel options through the airline hub in Dubai," said Sudhir Suriyadharan, Vice President Commercial Operations of Flydubai for the UAE, an organization cooperating with the countries of the Persian Gulf, Africa, and South Asia.
Flydubai began its operations in Nepal, launching direct flights to Kathmandu in 2009. The company has carried more than three million passengers, contributing to strengthening trade and tourism between Nepal and the UAE. In addition to Nepal, Flydubai has also launched new regular flights this year to Basel (Switzerland), Islamabad and Lahore (Pakistan), Kerman and Kish Island (Iran), expanding its network to 126 destinations in 55 countries across Africa, Central and Southeast Asia, the Caucasus, Central and Eastern Europe, and countries of the Persian Gulf and the Middle East.
